I was looking at the results of Les Petis 2013 and Gordon and Bellis are still in it! Yea! Let's go NorCal! Also, another girl by the name of Sofia Zhuk, who registered as out of NorCal (Granite Bay) for local events, but is based in Russia, is still in it as well. I've seen all these girls play, they are awesome elite level players.

^^^ Yeah, watched some of CC Bellis today, quite a petite girl, but technically pretty sound, played well - comfortable taking the ball early, which on courts that take spin this well is a big advantage. Sofya Zhuk is the player the papers here are talking about, she has looked really solid in the two matches I have seen of hers, but the girl I am most impressed with is the Algerian girl Ibbou, great mover, really sets herself behind the ball and has exceptional control over the ball flight. Picked after match one and she's still going strong.
Cheers

Yep, I'm a NorCal guy as well, and I can't believe these girls are only 13.
I believe CC won the NorCal sectional 18's. I saw somewhere that she credits her winning to playing 8 hours a week on clay. |

Bellis won her semi final against Zhuk - gutsy kid and not afraid to get inside the baseline, which is what made the difference! Final is tomorrow.

Boom!
@zootennis: Californian CiCi Bellis(3) wins Les Petits As 14-and-under title with 61, 62 victory over top seed Andreea Rosca(ROM) in 51 min. |

^^^Yup, she played a great match - Rosca was never really in trouble all week, but like I said Bellis can get up the court, something a lot of the eastern european girls won't do!
Rammazotti, who won the boys event, is a beast of a 14 year old! They should check his drivers license for his age! :0) Cheers

court at or near the pad. Parents all in. Looks like money not an issue, but who knows (I never assume) and yes she plays a lot. But not just playing, the total program, fitness, diet, blah, blah, blah. They are locked in.
