Volkl v-maxx hybrid

Hi all, I picked up volkl v-maxx hybrid, strung it in at 50/51 poly mains. Felt like I was hitting old flat tennis balls. Anyone try this stuff out? Any thoughts on which string seems to be the culprit the syn/gut or the poly. I picked up five packs so I am thinking going full bed of either. I would go up in tension but the ball isn't going as deep as I would like it. I have 4G at 48 in my other racket, sweetspot for me.
