The tennis authorities were clearly suspicious, rightfully so.

hmm, fed requested olympic testers to keep his blood samples for up to 8 years after her retires.

wonder if rafa will say the same.

It is natural to be nursing your knee for six months after losing to a nobody, right

You've never heard of Jimmy Connors, have you ? Not to mention Rosewall. Agassi ?

Naah, Federer probably wants his blood to be stored for posterity forever (at the Smithsonian -- or Louvre no less), in case they one day have the technology to clone his cells and make a whole society of Federer clones. That would be more like him. Arrogant chap. Nadal wants no such adulation.

Fred wants a vial of his blood to be on display between The Last Supper and Mona Lisa

Seems like Nadal might be being targeted by ITF and Ricci Bitti, who has gone on the record and said he's a Federer fan.

F. Ricci Bitti's favorite player to watch:

Favorite Players To Watch: “Now, Roger Federer. He’s a friend. A great person for tennis, not only a great champion and he gives back a lot, with his behavior, with his thinking. In the past, I like many players. McEnroe was one of them – a player that I liked very much.”

What is this!? Are you trying to say it isn't already there? I'll be onto the director immediately, where's that telephone number he left me....

Admitting that another obligation is less than desirable doesn't mean they cheat, it means their human and have limited tolerance for extras.

I think the issue isnt so much that they complained, but of all the top players, murray and nadal were the most vocal about the testing procedure.

its noticeable when one is calling for more testing and more blood testing and the other says they have no problem with weekly controls well..people notice.

Nadal hasn't played since losing in the second round to Czech Lukas Rosol at Wimbledon in June.

The 26-year-old Spaniard said he'd passed six blood and urine doping tests since then. In the wake of cyclist Lance Armstrong's doping admission, Nadal said he supports strict controls to keep tennis clean.

"Above all, the sport must be clean. We must have certainty that the rival in front is as clean as I am," he said. "I don't have any problem with having controls every week to combat what has happened in other sports. Tennis continues to be a clean sport as it has been throughout its history."

Shame on the people who make baseless allegations against the humble GOAT.
That's some very clever wording there, I wonder who came up with that for him to say?

Reading between the lines we get 2 very obvious meanings here.

1. "We must make sure everyone is as clean as me, no? Because I am well known for being the most clean sportsman in world history no? No testing is even needed with me, it is the others you need to worry about. They must be tested to prove they are as clean as me. No?"

2. "We must make sure everyone is as clean as me. But it doesn't mean I am clean! I could be doping to the eyebrows (maybe that's why they move so much, no? One day maybe I get eyebrow injury, no?) Everyone is as clean as me (not clean) then it's fine. No?"

Very clever PR

Yes everyone must be as clean as him. Because if anyone was less clean then they would surely self-destruct.

I suppose they could also manufacture blood sausages with Federer's plasma. I know of a couple of individuals here who would pay good money for that.

I won't be surprised if Mcenroe used those substances, but I wouldn't too much stock in his ex-wife's claims either. They had an extremely bitter break-up and both of them made highly defamatory claims about each other.

When will everyone realize that trying to gauge whether or not a player is doping based on his or her statements in support of anti-doping measures is sort of fruitless? I think most of them just say whatever their management or PR or whatever instructs them to say anyway.

I absolutely agree....it's just about PR.

I also find a bit odd all this mess about doping and tennis.

I have found this blog ... which is really madness!... I mean it seems a crusade!
