Default Need Help Spotting Fake Federer Gear

I've been wanting to purchase some Federer gear, but the auction sites are full of fakes that I'd like to avoid buying. I was hoping those of you who own authentic Federer gear could tell me a few things about them to help me spot the fakes.

For example, I see a lot of RF polos that say "Made in Cambodia" on the inside collar label. Is that what the authentic RF polos say? I know that real RF polos are made with 88% polyester and 12% spandex, right?

Also, where are the RF track jackets made? It seems like most on auctions sites have collar labels that say "Made in China." Are the track jackets made in a different place than the polos? What materials are the jackets made out of?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the quick response! I'm glad to hear about the polos made in Cambodia, it didn't make sense that there would be that many fakes posted, but I wanted to make sure.

I've been looking on e b a y because I'm mostly interested in older Federer gear that isn't available at major retailers any more. For example, the 2009 US Open jacket, the 2011 Indian Wells yellow polo, etc.

Especially when you look for 09 US open jacket 95% of jackets are fake.
Tags are good sources to identify but made in xxxx does not proof anything.
Shapes of tags, letters (font), slight different design, zipper colors etc...
There so many factors to identify whether it's authentic or fake.
Good luck

I didn't realize the 2009 USO was such a popular fake. Here is one I've been looking at (click the pictures for bigger versions).

It seems to match up quite well with other pictures I've seen of the real one, but I can't find any close ups of authentic collar tags to see how they compare with this one.

The only things that stand out to me about this jacket is that it says "Made in China" and has some strange white-ish marks next to the Nike logo on the inside collar label.

What do you guys think? Does anyone happen to own the authentic version of this jacket that could chime in with their observations? Thanks!

If the price is good, buy it! Fake or not it couldnt be made much worse than Nike gear of recent. Also, it looks like a fine jacket with very soft materials. LIke I said, go for it

Because I have both jackets.

The other poster is correct about the distance of the logo.

Also the logo itself is a bit thinner. Another big difference is the finish of the material. The fake jacket is more 'glossy' (for want of a better term).
