Default Steam 99S grommets

Has anyone else had issues with these? On the third string job, I already had to tube two holes down near the throat because the grommets completely split out. These aren't tie-offs or anything either, just main string grommets just outside the throat. Kind of annoying to have to spend time tubing grommets already. Anyone else seeing any problems like this?

Not altogether surprising. Design a racquet so that the strings move more, and you put more lateral strain on the grommets >>> split grommets.

The grommet hole are pretty large, I was able to tie off at T11, because T7 was too tight to get nat gut through.

The seem like the plastic that they are made from is too hard and brittle. In both cases, there was very little deformation in the grommet, just breaking from the end down to the frame.

Sorry to derail the thread but I noticed under your signature that you also use c10 pro. Are they remotely even alike?
