Hmmmm. Nothing is impossible, but if Rafa is anything like his usual self then he'll be winning RG - and that's before we mention Nole, Roger or even Ferrer!

I've heard that Lendl genuinely believes Murray can do serious damage on the dirt - I guess stranger things have happened at sea.

There are a lot of reasons for thinking Murray won't win RG - his performance in the AO semis isn't one of them.

Incidentally, can a player really struggle if they are never behind in the match?

We can all have doubts about his ability to win it (and we all probably should), but if he has doubts, that would be cause for criticism. I like the attitude.

Murray has a good attitude, if you don't believe in yourself, you will not achieve anything!

I find it interesting that he is speaking in these terms. He has spoken openly before about his chances of winning the other 3 slams - prior to this, I think he'd only ever spoken before of 'doing well' at RG.

Someone is telling him he can win it. Someone whose views Murray holds in very high regard.

The thing is - he's one of only 4 current players to have taken a set off Rafa @ Monte Carlo and he created 18 BP against the Spaniard in their 2011 RG semi.

He would likely need to be second seed and have Rafa, Roger, Nole, Delpo and Berdych in the other half - even then he'd probably lose to Ferrer

MC is highly overrated since it lost it's Masters1000 status. Rarely do all of the top 4 show up. So he took a set off Nadal. He still has never won a clay tournament, nor has he even made it to a clay final. The only way he could win RG is if Djoker, Nadal and Federer are all in the same half and none of them make it to the final. I'd say the chances of that happening are probably a gazillion to one.

Bit of a myth this mate. His formative years were spent on hardcourts - many of them indoors.

He was at Sanchez-Casal for just under 2 years from the age of 15.
