Isner gets all the credit yet Querrey wins in straight sets against an opponent ranked 100 spots higher than the one Isner player?

Decent performance fro Querrey too! The fact of the matter is that Isner being the number 1 man in US tennis is the go to man for the team obviously he's been out of action for a while with injury which makes this win all the more important!

American tennis and world tennis as a whole has been poorer without Isner on court blasting his aces as he was last night!

Only decent when he dispatched a far better player in straight sets? Nice ****-esque bias.

Querrey has been playing and in decent form! and if he was not under the same pressure as John as he was playing as the number 2 player!

John is the go to man of the team and he aims to make this team his own! That pressure with then team on his shoulders added to the fact this match was his comeback match make this a fantastic performance and it seems like his serve was at it's belligerent best with 32 aces!

You're neglecting the fact that Querrey played the better player and destroyed him, while Isner lost a set to a guy ranked in the 100's. By the end of this year, Querrey will be the number 1 American. He's a better player than John.

Isner loses in 5 to a man that Querrey took apart easily. Ark, what's your input?

This was no doubt a slightly dissapointing result for John! Although he has won some huge 5 set matches! These longer matches are a bit of a hurdle at the moment but I have no doubt he will overcome it! The match was on his racket anyway!

Sure it was a good effort from Querrey but as the number 2 playing on day 1 he was not playing with any pressure on him at all so it was far easier to free up and play his shots!

In any case it's a good thing for team USA that someone else has stepped up John carried the USA to the semis last year in order to win it needs the other guys in form! Add to that the Bryan's loss was probably just an aberration and the USA actually look in good shape

Um...Querrey won the decisive rubber, because John couldn't pull through. All the pressure was on Sam in that match.

My point is! Querrey beat Belluci when the pressure was off as he was playing as the 2nd ranked American!

Sure he did good winning the deciding match but he only just scraped by against a guy that Isner hammered on day 1!

Isner has overall been the most clutch player for the US team over the last year or so in DC

John said on twitter to me last night that his favourite cricket is the scorchers, this is very apropriate seeing as he has a scorching serve!

A great question. Personally I don't especially love either, but even a Fed fan like myself will have to take Nadal/Djokovic grindfest over the acefest any day.

John was serving absolute bullets tonight and did not even face a break point this is fantastic news for tennis as the game needs this attacking player with the serve forehand combo to be at the peak of his powers!

Just remember it was Malisse, and not not someone that other pros are really afraid of.

Decent run for John making the semis in San Jose in what was his first tour event on his come back!

John is seeded 3 in Memphis and if he finds the range on his serve he's going to be almost impossible to stop this week!
