Dunlop Ice got me off 4G. Which I really like a lot. Hated the price as everyone else does, but my taste in poly is a little unique. I don't like the soft, springy stuff.

I dont string by myself yet. So, for now, 4g is not that bad as I string less often and thus give less money to the stringer.

Good write up, Jolly. I was saying the same thing back when I did the Luxilon play test a while ago.

I've been meaning to write a similar review but you're much better at it than me. I've been playing with BBO for 4yrs now. So it was natural for me buy at set of 4G when it came out.

Less power, less spin... I did use my ATS ERT to measure the tension loss over 3wks in my bag(it went back in my bag after 10mins), and it does hold tension well. Other than that I have nothing good to say about this poly.

If you think 4G plays good, get yourself a set of BBO and be amazed.

I hit with it a second time after my initial review session just to see how much longer it would break since I doubted it had another hour in it.

After 20 minutes of torture I had to put it back in my bag or I would have snapped my frame in half over my knee out of frustration.

That is the tension I am currently using for my normal setup, so I wanted a direct comparison.

P.S. Good for Chris. It felt plasticy to me.

ALU checks in at 92. VS Gut isn't reviewed.

ALU Rough is 85 which is odd since it is basically the same string as regular ALU.

Those are the two best strings ever made in my opinion, the gold standards.

The best multi ever made, which I might even like more than natural gut is Laserfibre Supernatural Gut.

Very difficult to understand

Why would anyone be afraid to write a review of a tennis string?

Because Wilson is hyping this string to the max.. and folks are talking it up.. here despite the negitive comments. It is a string that has a very limited market and it is overpriced.

It is very durable... just plays bad for a longer period of time.

Still doesnt realy answer my question. Marketing a string doesnt mean people are afraid to review it. There has already been a lot of negative reviews.
I like the string a lot as a cross. My favorite cross for vs gut mains. Personally its priced fine for me. I should try it full bed.
