Hello Playtesters,
I've watched and read both reviews (great job BTW!), and have a question regarding the stiffness of the two sticks. The 100S is considered by many to be a comfortable racket with it's 68 stiffness rating. The Xi 100 comes in with a 71 stiffness rating...close to the Babs Pure Drive which feels way too stiff for me. With that being said, did you think that the stiffness of the Xi 100 was noticeable when compared to the 100S? If so, would you consider the Xi 100 to be as comfortable as the 100S? It looks like the specs are the same on both rackets and if one of them is less likely to cause arm/elbow issues, I would rather purchase that one. Let me know what you think, DMacAttack |

DMacAttack,
Thanks for the kind words! After talking to Andy and Tiffani who have hit both versions of the racquet, we concluded that we didn't notice any significant differences in comfort. All three of us felt that the racquets felt the same comfort-wise. We do think however the feel is a little bit different between the two but this had nothing to do with the comfort aspect. Hope that helps! Brittany,TW

Thanks for the quick reply Brittney.
If the Xi is as comfy as the 100S like you guys said, I'll go with the new tech. Keep up the awesome work! DMacAttack |

Watch the QC on the Yonex. I just picked up a new 100S and the RDC shows it to have a flex of 70, a SW of 316 and a strung weight of 11.6oz. Not exactly what I was expecting.

I would say the new Pure Drive GT is more comfy than the old v core 100. The latter really was hurting my arm. PDGT was ok! Have not played the new v core, but it has a higher stiffness rating..

@ Defenseless - Really? I'd read nothing but great things about Yonex's QC. Was yours measured with additional things like overgrip, vibration dampener, etc?
@ Veninga - Were there different strings in the PDGT and the 100S? I hit the PDGT (not sure of the string) and had some jarring when hitting outside the sweet spot. I hit the 100S with a full bed of poly and it felt just fine. |

Measured in stock form with 17ga poly. Not happy as I wanted to tailweight it with a leather grip to make more HL and get it up to 11.6ish. I don't want to take the weight up beyond 11.6 on this one. A flex of 67 is really pushing my upper limit, but 70 is well beyond. Unhappy camper here.

Bummer Defenseless...maybe try to sell it on the boards? Or trade it in and TW could offer you credit?
Just a thought, since you're that unhappy with it. |
