I have. I like tornado better. For some reason it feels muted and doesn't have as much snap as poly plasma either.

Tornado seemed like it would provide 10,000 RPMs on the ball just holding it but did not. It was very average for me like Hyperion.

I prefer SPPP for a cross in a hybrid on open rackets because it's stiffer, but for full stringbed nothing beats Hyperion for me. Just tons of comfort (unlike the stiff SPPP), big spin, good touch (for a poly), never goes really dead and just lasts forever.

It may not be quite as good as fresh stringjob of BB Alu Power, but that string goes bluh in all of an hour or so and breaks fast.

I think you should give it a shot Jolly - string a bit higher tension then usual though.

1. I thought flouro wasn't a bad string, but it was unnecessarily more expensive than ALU, and I liked ALU better anyway. I don't need softness at all.

2. I hate, HATE Solinco strings. They feel ok when you hit slowly, or warm up, but when you start to swing at the ball with any sort of bat-speed, they roll over and play dead.

It could be the stringer too: mine is certified, pre-stretches the gut, even waxes it before feeding it through the grommets and it's probably the best stringer in town (granted that is not saying much for a city of about 1.5 million. At times I wax it myself, according to some "natural gut guide" from Tennis warehouse.

Good to know about Solinco strings, thanks! I also have some Prince poly that I planned to try at some point, if I get around it.

Also maybe you didn't buy a good natural gut like Babolat or Wilson and went for some of the cheaper ones?
Finally I usually have at least 2 racquets (if not 3) strung the same and I alternate them at changeovers, getting usually at least 5 weeks out the both, before I need to string one. I play around 2 hours at a time, 5-6 times a week.

You know, I think you are on to something.

I put my strings in myself, I usually just lay the racquet on my tea cart, and then hold it flat on there with my foot. I weave the strings through by hand (sometimes I get confused and lose track) and then I hold one end in my teeth, and pull them tight with the tire iron from the trunk of my car.

That's a really good idea. How many of the same racquets do you think I should have?

The Kevlar kills them about the same as the K90s, which is to say they are at least 5-7X stronger than the BLXPS.

I wonder if Prestige Mid will hold better for you due to tubular design and 40 lbs non-kevlar strings...

We will see, I only hit with it for a bit because I had a match to play and wanted to use my normal frames.

I haven't even put a full stringjob through it yet, my first one was cut short when I shanked a kick serve.

I think it was about to break anyway though, was notched pretty deeply. But that one was at 44, and still felt too stiff where I normally hit.

Prestige sweet spot seems to be dead center, and I hit higher in the bed, so the prestige is a bit stiff where I hit the ball. Hopefully stringing it at 40 will help, she sure is a lively bitc* strung that low.

Never met a string that loves low tension like BBO.

Tell her instead it's investment grade materials: [K]arophite, Basalt, Graphite/Carbon... Promise her you will recycle all the broken racquets and turn them into diamond necklace for her (use 4G string, it's good as gold).
