He would have won regardless. According to veronique, Nadal is playing his best tennis right now.

Nadal's timing is off and he appeared to be tired. He got to the final of his first tournament and that's great. But how he is going to deal with yet another match after the singles finlal is yet to be seen.

Why so defensive? I don't think much of this loss...would not expect him to go undefeated during the clay court season, but man.....what is your point, OP?!

Nadal at peak.. hmm 2012 clay court dominance level. Possible 2 games, 6-1, 6-1.
He beat ferrer and djokovic 3 times quite easily in some of those match ups!

Nadal is done. RG 2012 could very well be his last title. I mean Cipolla? Cebolla?

He lost a set to Cipolla in 2011 CLay MS1000...he still won RG.

I think he will get back mean form in RG.....though if he remains in this funk....I prefer he reaches his Federer in the QF/SF. Federer best chance to beat Nadal at RG bar 2011.

She knows nothing, and lives in denial. Her posts have gotten so silly that I usually just skim right past them.

He's healthy. Just a bit rusty. And Zeb played a great match. No need to take credit away from him.

When it comes to Nadal she spreads hope and you spread disdain. Guess what people respect more.

This was a good result for Nadal in his first tourney back. You cannot just expect a guy to come off a 7 month break and win tourneys no problem. He got to the final and played a tough match. He will have to be better to make a good defense of his clay points but as long as the knee isn't a huge bother his form will improve.

Nadal won't be playing if he wasn't "healthy". It is his first tournament. Need to get the timing back.
