Hey everyone, back from my tour in Germany and would like to start playing on a regular basis again weather permitting. Anyone in the Silver Spring area?

Edit: Thought I should come back in and add, that I'm somewhere between a 3.5-4.0 atm since I've been playing inconsistently thanks to the Army. In any case, I'm off of East west hwy and Georgia but am willing to drive a bit to meet up.

thanks JRStriker. Seems like you've debunked the magical spin secret sauce for Wilson. I want to try the 99s. I heard it feels pretty head heavier than normal.

I just applied for a job in Chantilly. Not sure what Im going to do If I get it. Probably find a cheap place to pay rent and still go back to grace on weekends. Until I decided if I like living in the area then I may sell my house. but with my parents living me and dad not close to finishing the house they are to move into. I cant just kick them to the curb. Such a conundrum (not sure if thats proper use of that word or not).

Also applied for a job in Bahrain. So I might be gone altogether for a while. But If I do end up in Bahrain. I will probably return a 5.0 level player. But will still be 4.0 and can own USTA for a year or two.

mclovin, i played your tri level partner, in 8.0 mixed yesterday at chesnut forks...our team lost the first sets on all courts, but somehow pulled out the match...chesnut definitely brought the A team too....GP, BS and your tri level guy...

after the match, GP said BS is better now that he's not drinking...haha, you know you have a drinking problem with HE tells you, you don't need to be drinking (side note, i've seen GP down a beer right before a match)

Debunked? Maybe, sort of.

Plenty of spin potential in that racket, it comes down to whether you have the technique and game to really make a difference.

It's like the APD, good racket, lots of spin, not going to make you Rafa.

He's not only my tri-level partner, he runs CFAC (his dad is the owner, but Derek has been running it for the last 5+ years). So, you literally went into his house & gave him the beat down...

Must have been an off-day for CFAC mixed as our 40+ 8.0 team lost last night in Great Falls. My wife & I got shellacked by a "4.0" (note the use of quotes) pairing, 6-4, 6-2. Felt more like a 9.0 match, at least from their side of the court.

Bill losing is surprising, but seeing that it was Santos he played against, I can see that. I'm surprised he hasn't been bumped to a 5.0 yet.

Oh, and on a racquet-side-note, me & Derek played singles last week. I was up 5-2 when he popped the string in his last frame. He tries to use the 'light' version of the PS, but he didn't like it & I won the set 6-2 and went up 3-0 in the 2nd.

At that point I walked over to my bag, pulled out one of my frames & told him to put that POS away & use one of mine. Guess what? The ba$**** beat me in a tiebreak. Serves me right...

you should always keep a cracked racquet in your bag to:

1. have your opponent loose
2. to guilt your opponent into getting you a new racquet

Hollywood,

Bahrain gonna be tax free (the first 80k or whatever)? I thought about a job in Saudi when I got out for that. Bahrain would be much better!

Make sure you pick the right mixed dubs partner, good buddy.

monkey, sap: big gratis for the ride to Granville Moore's! Still stuffed - good mussels and fries. Beer was a bit pricey for small glasses...

monkey, hope you had a little bit of leftover pizza for the wife when you pulled into the driveway...haha
