IMG is a mess and is nothing like it used to be. It's in turmoil, and has split up into many segments. Nadal and Fed were absolutely right to abandon that sinking ship.

His agent is Tony Godsick. They too have opened their own management company together after leaving IMG.

And aren't you a Fed fan? You should know this stuff, dude.

I didn't know this either. Looks like Nadal fans are the obsessive ones around here.

Commentators mentioned it here.

Could look for a link though

EDIT: http://www.marca.com/2013/02/10/tenis/1360522734.html

http://www.emol.com/noticias/deporte...orld-tour.html

According to those they're about to sign, but they're from yesterday.

In Marca:

Nadal "I think Garín is a player with very, very good prospects. He has evidently done a very good tournament". "It's also true that you always have to keep your feet on the ground. From here, from the press, from all the people from Chile, you've got to help him. The main thing is that he surrounds himself with people, like I said the other day, who give him positive things, who give him good examples. And that he keeps the enthusiasm and the motivation to keep improving every day".

About the contract: "Carlos Costa would have to talk more about that, I am focused on my tournament, that is what I've come here to do, to play tennis, and for that Carlos is there, he is who handles those things".

In Emol they say Garín confirmed the info, and that it should help him get invitations to ATP tournaments.

A little help from santiago.

http://www.emol.com/noticias/deporte...orld-tour.html

"No sólo eso. En los próximos días, Garín firmará con la empresa que maneja a Rafael Nadal, representada por el agente y ex tenista Carlos Costa, para operar en sus próximos pasos de su promisoria carrera.

Esto fue confirmado por el propio jugador a Emol y aunque no reveló mayores detalles de este acuerdo, desde ahora el tenista nacional tendrá la máxima atención de este grupo que va en crecimiento, tras el éxito obtenido con la trayectoria del oriundo de Manacor en el circuito."

Google translation

"Not only that. In the coming days, Garin signed with the company managing to Rafael Nadal, represented by agent and former tennis player Carlos Costa, to operate in the next steps of his promising career.

This was confirmed by the player himself to Emol and although not revealed further details of this agreement, national tennis player now has the full attention of this group is growing, following the success of the Manacor native path in the circuit ."

Nadal and Federer said to themselves...why should IMG have my money when I can have my own company? IMG set up all the huge number of endorsements Nadal and Federer get so they will just carry on with these sponsors. Smart businessmen.

That's quite a coup to get such a highly touted young player. Bet he'll be in Mallorca practicing with Rafa once in awhile.
