Default Chris: Cyclone or 4g?

I know you like both strings. 4g has better tension maintenance and gives better control and Cyclone gives better spin. Which has better feel? Which one do you prefer and why?

I prefer Cyclone simply due to the fact that it is an absolute steal of a deal. 4G lasts a little longer, tension wise, but the two are not worlds apart. Cyclone Black is a tad softer and I find it pockets better, but as far as spin goes, they are pretty close for me. I like the spin from 4G -- more than most, it seems. If you prefer a softer feel, you should find Cyclone to play softer. For me, 4G is a tad crisper and firmer feeling.

I have never used Cyclone. I have used black strings like Black5Edge, Black Venom (briefly), Black Code and RPM Blast. So, I like black strings, especially their look. Performance wise I liked B5E, Black Code and RPM in a RDIS 100 MP but not in the APDs, too stiff. So, I got a Yonex VCore 97 Tour 330 and strung it with Cyclone as I see that many of you playtesters love that string. The racket will arrive on Monday. I liked 4g in a 330 that I used briefly and I liked the feel it had. So, we will see which I prefer.

Finally, how many playing hours do you get from Cyclone? Thanks for your response.

I get around 10, playing an hour a day for two working weeks. I can play it for longer, but I enjoy those first 10 hours more. I've found 4G to get me into a third week and still feel good.

So, if 4g gives you three weeks, that extra week compensates a bit the higher cost.
