Yeah, those onions are delish! (Sorry for the typo).

TLR, i too am not a rice guy, having lived in the North, but nothing satisfies me more than idlis and coconut chutney/sambar.

pickled mangoes, rice and alittle ghee.
or
a charcoal grilled ribeye over rice with alittle top quality soy sauce.
or
dry salted fish over rice and some veggies

Gotta admit, I am a riceboy.

simple yet so tasty.

^^ I never understood the celery salt as being a crucial part of a proper Chicago dog. Between the hot dog itself and the pickle, is there not enough salt in the thing already??

The one you barely have time to eat while stressing in a hot restaurant kitchen and then have to abandon when a new order comes in, and then when you go back to eat it it's stone cold, but you feel worthy of it.

Also, a thick steak, cooked rare, with a nice salad, fries, and bearnaise sauce. Or if you want to be posh, beef Wellington. Also a lover of toast Skagen (kinda local actually, Skagen is basically only it's name)

Tomato with olive oil and garlic
Sardines (the small ones) with gros sel (salt) on the bbq
A calamar a la plancha with onion, potatoes and green pepper
Profiterolles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate
A bottle of san pellegrino

When traveling in a crowded couchette between Stockholm and Copenhagen, I enjoy opening a can of surströmming for a satisfying late night snack.

Sunday is my cheat day and I treat myself to a bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys and it's always heavenly.

^ I'd lay off their peanuts. Their fries, named by Men's Health magazine as among the unhealthiest at any fast food joint, are cooked in peanut oil, notoriously contaminated with the carcinogen aflatoxin (from a fungus that commonly contaminates peanuts). Peanuts they serve can have the same toxin, so you're getting a whopping dose of poison. But yes, satisfying.

There's a pizza place near me that does these square pizzas that taste fantastic, and even their fries and garlic bread are to die for too.

I'd have that. In large. And eat myself to death.

Seen Se7en? Yeah, like that.

Burritos Tipicos (Beef Tips) smothered with queso, lettuce, tomato, and guacamole salad.

Or a good, charcoal grilled Ribeye with a baked potato and a salad.

then again, I'm jst as happy going to Olive Garden for unlimited pasta ***ioli soup, salad, and bread sticks.

I ain't real picky as long as it's good!

*** can't believe editor blanked out "eff" "a" "gee" in the soup name ***

Alas, some of the best tasting food is also the unhealthiest :/

Surstromming puts everything but the kitchen sink in stink--whew!

Compared to surstromming and other "aromatics" such as lutefisk and hakari (a Danish 'delicacy' of rotten shark meat), pickled herring and canned mackerel come off smelling like a dozen long-stemmed roses.
