Opening a can of surströmming is like detonating a nuclear bomb of the most pungent rotting fish on the planet. If done indoors, there will be casualties.

Ha ha, I noticed that only after you mentioned it. Personally, I don't care much for the kinnums. I like all the food on the plantain leaf so that I can have my 'kootanchoru' (medley) styled devouring.

King Taco is my go to place for gluttony. Carne Asada nachos, three carne asada tacos and a large Horchata.

It really is the only place I can go to, eat till I'm sick, then go back the next day (not that I do). I try and limit myself to once or twice a month.

tennismonkey, I don't know where you live (there's a few Scandanavian specialty shops around here), but maybe try your local IKEA store? I think they sell food items like Swedish meatballs, caviar in a tube, etc. Maybe they'll have surstromming.

Millions of Swedes can't be wrong. Here's a quick 10-second video below of a lovely Swedish maiden after ingesting surstomming:

Notice the tumbler is copper, not stainless steel

Though I'm a Swede, I've never tasted surströmming. It's kind of "thank you, but no thank you".
