Sure, same as I have heard from a zillion trolls on this forum who criticize Nadal for daring to take a breath. I think I will take his word, and the other player's word for it that the courts suck in Brasil over a bunch of faceless, Nadal hating trolls on a tennis forum.

This is true. I didn't see a bunch of trolls jumping on him for making a huge stink over that. Gee, I wonder why that is?

Nadal is right in this case. If the courts are bad they are bad.

Did Nadal complain about the AO courts? I saw a Chinese girl fall TWO WHOLE TIMES. And she even banged her head on the court when she fell.

They really should move AO to soft mushy clay before people die.

Maybe that's a part of it, but we all know the reason most of the trolls/members of this forum jump on Nadal the most.

I remember everyone else in the top 5 cried and *****ed about the blue clay last year and just one player came out on top cuz he just dealt with it.

If a court sucks and isn't built for sliding without digging in, THEN DON'T SLIDE! But then again, that's all Novak does to get to every ball. Maybe those organizers finally figured out how to neutralize the great Nole of Slidersville.

I watching the live stream Nalbadian-Aguilar match now. I believe it is indoors. The court seems very fast for clay but it looks in fine shape on TV anyways. They brushed it after the first set. nalbandian winning 7-5...

That's all you could come up with? Please take a look at the main page to see how many Nadal threads there are bashing him right now. There is no comparison.

Interesting... The media here says the courts are in great condition and they looked fine to me.

Yeah, it is indoor and indeed it is a faster court.

Yep, because we know the media are the ones actually playing on the courts. The players, who are actually running around playing on that surface, just don't know what they're talking about.

The court is not blue?

I think they took the Madrid clay, re-colored it, and moved it to Sao Paulo. Good joke on Rafa!

Someone needs to tell this guy to retire already. All he does is whine and complain. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

This is what the courts are like there. The lines are LITERALLY coming off. While I don't always agree with Rafa, he's not exaggerating here and is 100% correct. The courts are that bad.

Furthermore he was not even the first to complain. Most other players had said the same thing before Rafa said anything. Unfortunately, as someone said, "the boy who cried wolf" effect may be starting to come into play regarding Rafa's comments as evident in this thread.

If the clay is uneven and unsafe, then he has a point, but he's not doing himself any favors by saying that the court doesn't facilitate long rallies and that people want to see long rallies. That just looks like blatant self-serving bias since Nadal himself prefers slower courts and longer rallies.
