Lost in straight sets to Tim Smyczek, who is currently ranked like 102 in the world or something. Please retire.

His future might be in modeling, soft-core erotica, hustling, not sure, but I feel it's no longer in tennis. |

Tim did play well, but I can't help but be hard on verdasco. I've been expecting big things out of him for such a long time now and it never happened lol.

Credit the dues Smyczek has paid working his way through seven years of the minors...things are coming together for him well now. Beating Dasco is just another step up for Tim...beating Ivo and taking a set from Ferrer @AO was the previous rung on the ladder.

Verdasco obviously tanked. Came for an appearance fee (San Jose ladies love him) and left quickly to prepare for real tennis on a real surface.

The only big achievement of Verdasco was pushing Nadal to 5 sets in AO2009.

From his personal Facebook, he spends more time in the gym and working out then on the court prolly because he gets his money anyways. He's like Shushapan, doesn't have top tier skills but makes millions a year from endorsements, appearence fess, and following. |
