Well it looks like AgRad vs Ivanovic is just as close as I expected it to be...

Aga and Ana is always a fun match-up. Definitely a favorable one for Aga, but it can be compelling if it's close, as the second set was.

Is Aga now 6-0 against Ana? That's a real bagel...

Wozni gets a 2 set win over Barthel. Good result, she's never dropped a set against her.

Has anyone see her play this year? I haven't, other than the "shot-of-the-day" clip on the first day of this tournament.

Is she playing any more aggressively, or has she just raised the level of her trademark game?

Kuznetsova loses the first set to currently one of the worst players in the world Sam Stosur.

Kuznetsova will be embarrassed about this loss.

Stosur did play very well today though for the most part. Was nice to see.

I can't believe I ever thought Kvitova was a great player. Fluke performance at Wimbledon when she won it.

Wow. All top 8 seeds except Kerber (who lost respectably to Barthel) in the quarters. The WTA really is starting to build up some goodwill again.

Vika/Errani
Aga/Woz
Stosur/Maria
Serena/Kvitova

Some interesting match-ups.
- Vika/Errani should be done in under an hour.
- Aga/Woz hard to predict. Aga 1.0 was Woz's puppet. Now that there is a chance that Woz 1.5 has emerged, how will it turn out against Aga 2.0.
- Stosur/Maria - Sam on could give her trouble (what is their H2H?) Here's hoping it's a decent match, but you gotta go with the favorite.
- Serena/Kvitova - Serena's had a lot more "on" days than Kvitova these days, and Serena's "off" days aren't nearly as bad as Kvitova's. Still, if both show up....who knows.

And Barthel lost respectably to Stosur. So all is respectable there..

We have to figure out how Errani hangs with big girls so well..

Didn't see the match, but Kvitova's score against Petrova almost scared me again..

Yes things are getting more interesting in women's tennis..

Yes yes yes..

. . . . .
