Help Stringing

I have been doing racquet stringing for a few months and I taught myself through a guide from Gamma and through Youtube videos. It seems that I am stringing very inconsistently and that I am not doing it right. What is the best way to learn how to string?

Well the best way is to have someone who knows what they're doing teach you in person. Next best option(since you've read the stringing guide, and probably looked at Irvin's and Yulite's YouTube) is to post whatever specific questions or problems you have here and members can answer them for you. And maybe even record yourself doing a string job and people can tell you what you're doing wrong. What specific issues are you having?

Why do you think you are inconsistent?

I have a crank machine and sometimes it doesn't release in the same place. Also when I am playing with a racquet I have strung I can tell that it is over tensioned.

Do you have anything to actually measure the tension of your racquet once it is strung? Also, do you think it is a mechanical problem with your stringing machine? If it's an older machine it may be time to check the nuts and bolts, make sure everything is tight and in order. If you can't pinpoint it then I'd suggest setting your tension lower than usual since it seems to be above the tension you'd like and see how it feels.

Because each length of string is about the the same length the lockout should occur in about the same place. I am not so sure thatis you though I would check the tension on the lockout you should be able to do it over and over again with the same string. It will be stretched out but that does not matter the tension at lockout should be the same every time.

Just thinking is your mounting posts can be adjusted individually they could be off center. If the racket is mounted on the turntable off center the string at one end will be longer than the other and the lockout may appear to be locking out at different lengths because the strings are longer but the tension is the same.
