Well now we have to part ways - knew I couldn't agree for long with you, but I tried. First of all the TN coach is from England, NOT Australia. Get your facts straight. The new guys are great and the only TN player I've ever seen go CONSISTENTLY nuts was Williams. Fickey lost it in one match, but the team paid the price and I bet that won't ever happen again. Fickey seems really teachable and like a good team player.

I don't understand why you insist on personal attacks - just enjoy some tennis man! You've got a great team this year - why don't you just focus on that? Geez!

I have to say that Tennessee is prtety hostile. Hunter Reese talked smack to the trainer and everyone on Clemson. Libetis also had some commentary. That's not a bad thing to have competitive spirit. And I dont think Tennessee ever crossed the line against Clemson.

also I just read Winterbotham's profile. Stoke City? Cmon man

BYU and Pepperdine are the worst around. A lot of nasty people on those teams.

what is wrong with yelling that ? there is no four letter words in there. If he yelled "Break on three against my punk a-- dodo bird". That would be different.

Agree. but i blame the coaching staff not the players in this regard. Coaching staff has to take charge and put a stop to this kind of unsportsman like display. It doesn't matter if this college tennis. Coaches that does nothing are to be blamed

Exactly. In college, we played this one team in particular a few times and their coach was a complete ******. It showed in the players. He could care less how they conducted themselves and it was always a nightmare playing against them, considering I always tried to keep my cool and not get into confrontations. These guys were always ready to fight! The coach needs to step up and put a stop to it.

True, the coaching staff needs to step up and set an example. Unfortunately it doesn't always happen.

I have seen it first hand and I would have to agree.

I have known King, Petrone and Rossi for years and all 3 are great boys. I don't know any of the other boys.

So I'm a Tennessee grad that lives in North Caorlina and a 4.0 player. I've been to a few matches and I realize in college tennis there is a lot of yelling and tight calls. Last weekend I took my 2 kids to go watch the Tenn/Duke match. They had a good crowd, maybe 300/400 people and it was pretty loud. There were some bad calls but the Tennessee coaches were whining about everything. It was pretty bad. It was a fun match so I decided to take my kids to go watch Tenn play Wake Forest on Sunday. We got there after the doubles and again there were about 300/400 people there, pretty loud as well. The Tennessee coaches again were talking to the umpires a lot. The match got close and the Wake player served for the team match at 5-3 in the third. At that point it got out of hand. The Tennessee assistant coach started making choking gestures at the Wake player and the umpire had to warn him. Tennessee won the match and after it was over the Tennessee assistant ran by the crowd, myself and my 2 kids included (me wearing a Tennessee hat) and pumped his fist and said "go f yourselves". I couldn't believe it. Honestly I was ashamed to be a Tennessee alumni at that point and I really hope something is done about his behavior. Awful end to a great match.

Was it Woodruff or Testerman?

You should write to the AD of Tennessee and tell him of your experience. That's despicable.

Ditto.

Now a days, someone had to get it on video.

I would hope one of the chair officials or the referee were close at hand with it being the last match. The referee can easily file a report with the ITA or even the WFU staff can do the same thing.
