It's for sure a knock off and that's likely why it broke.

Most definitely, there's no telling what that stuff really is.

I take this one with a full shaker of salt.

I'd post pics but it has healed nicely
Yes it was on a main.

Yes I may need to evaluate where I stand when pulling the strings. Was using a drop weight.

Sorry to disappoint some of you, this isn't made up lol... Pull any string at 66 lbs, stand behind the gripper and cut the string and see what it does to you

You must have the world's most energy hungry stringer. I cannot even imagine that you could tension poly to hold soooooooooo much energy inside it that if you release it at once, it would be able to literally whip you. I have seen someone seriously injured while trying to tune an old piano when one of the strings did snap (it was somehow corroded....first sign the thing was a crock). However, piano strings are literally tensioned on the order of tens of thousands of pounds. Not a few dozen.

Edit: terrible wording LOL, see post 31

I had 6 years off tennis and never used a poly before this. Now I know poly's work better at lower tensions!

LMAO I think I am going to buy some piano wire and tie them together for a tow chain.

EDIT: Did any one see the Duck Dynasty show where they put an old travel up on stilts to create "The Mother of all Duck Blinds?" They should have tied it up there with piano wire.

I just re-read that and indeed it does sound ridiculous; excuse my atrocious wording. The total tension on piano strings (as in total) is about 18-30 tons. For example, a Steinway concert grand has a total string tension of 45,000lbs which is actually what's considered a low-tension piano. Each string is tensioned to about 200-300lbs.

I'll take your word for that but it still sounds high. I thought you meant the tension on A piano wire.

No, a 1mm wire shouldn't be able to hold a few thousand pounds

And don't take my word for it, click the Steinway link. Or, check out the math here: http://www.phys.cwru.edu/forums/read.php?9,760,794

1750N is about 390lbs.

pv is right about the piano.
That's why they weigh so much.
The frame has to be made of cast iron to withstand the tension.
