They said he is going to play, he loves the place, etc.
Finally I am happy that I purchased tickets. I was afraid of a very low level of tennis if Rafa does not show up. |

Nadal likes playing hard to get with tournament directors.

Isn't this what we heard about the USO 2012, Winter 2012 indoor season, WTF 2012, and AO 2013?
I'll believe when I see it at this point.

Wow that's great news, definitely didn't expect that. I hope it doesn't aggravate his knee or end in another injury.

Bad move. He's just going to tear up his knee again grinding away on those slow hardcourts with nothing to show for it. If he falls in Cvac's half of the draw, may God have mercy on him because he's going to get slaughtered out there.

I would have rather seen him skip these and go to the European clay and have a better chance to get all the way through the year. He obviously wants to play, though.

I said at the time that he said that he would skip Indian Wells that I thought it was a wise move.

Woo! That's fun!
I saw him in IW last year for the first time. Wouldn't mind doing it again! ![]()

Good decision, if he feels any pain in his kness he can skip Miami.

I'll believe it when I see it. He hasn't played a HC match since....lol, I don't even remember. Was it some match in Miami before he withdrew or something?

Would be good for the game to see Nadal back in the mix for all surfaces.

This is great news. Apparently, Larry Ellison gives Rafa his house to use while him and his team are in IW - he's well looked after there.
I still wouldn't rule out a withdrawal after spending a few days in IW.

When he says he'll do A, the people who approve of A cheer, and the people who disapprove boo. When he says he'll do B, the people who approve of B cheer, and the people who disapprove of B boo. I'll still wait for him to turn up and play before I'll be sure it's happening, but I can see him giving it a decent go, with the knowledge he can pull out of Miami. He should at least try out his knee on a hard-court before announcing that it's too painful. He doesn't have much to lose, if he plays rubbish, he can blame it on the change of surface and it aggravating his injury. If he doesn't go, it will look like he's dodging the surface he's not good at, and he risks missing out on a lot of points. |
