Default Topspin versus slice versus kick serve ..[Bungalow & oth

Can you describe the basic mechanical difference between a topspin serve and a slice? Lastly, can you comment on the differences between a topspin and kick serve?
Thanks as usual for your great answers!!!!

is a twist serve ever considered a topspin serve -- or do you need the forward ball rotation (as opposed to side)?

Lets say you are a righty playing another righty... on the deuce court the slice serve would curve to your left in the air and after it lands jump to the right of the receiving player. Topspin serve is hit up so it looks that it will go out but arcs down into the box because of the topspin. It then should jump straight at the receiving player and about chest or head-high. The twist is just like the topspin serve but it jumps to the opposite side as the slice a little and still "kick" like the topspin.

Altawolfe,

We can spend a lot of time answering this one, but there are articles on the internet that have boiled it down to easy to learn steps!

Stitch is correct in his thread. Go here for a very clear explanation. Also, some great tips by Jeff on how to hit an extreme slice serve. This is a dandy serve to pull out every now and then.
