Default Federer Forehand

Check this out:
http://www.hi-techtennis.com/forehand/fed_example.cfm

May take a few seconds to load. What do you guys see? How does he get such a far in front
contact point? Is it from a pulling motion?

Looks to me like he pulls the butt of the racket all the way up to the ball. See how the racket head trails the hand all the way up until contact? (small wrist release before contact in this one I think because you can see the tip of the racket accelerate before
contact into contact).

Then he pushes through the ball for a few inches, then whips around.

I don't think that contact was out in front more than normal. I think he was just hitting cross court and the angle makes it look farther in front. Try to watch it imaging that you are looking at him from where that ball will land.
