Default Tim Henman's paint job

What's up with Terrible Tim painting his X1 to look like that old Pro Braided? Meet the new racquet, same as the old racquet?

Henman is using a Wilson ProStaff Classic 6.1 painted to look like a Slazenger Pro Braided. Why would he bother to use a Pro X-1 if he's never even used a Pro Braided?

Just take a look at this article: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/ten...ory?id=1872892

It isn't a real 6.1, it's a totally custom frame based on the 6.1 classic and has some reference to the Pro Braided.

So it's basically a "Henman-custom-racquet-that-we-should-stop-speculating-about"

From the ESPN article BreakPoint posted:

Few players have rebelled against the tennis racket painting. Mark Philippoussis has his racket painted entirely black because he doesn't want to give free publicity to companies he says either wanted him to paint it or use a new one.

"I used rackets that they stopped making years ago," Philippoussis said. "Companies obviously want you to paint it so that it looks like you are playing with the latest thing. But I just don't want to do that."

---

Many, many props to Flipper. This is a guy who know's the deal. The respect-o-meter is up there for him IMO.
