1980 lost in 3 slam semis.
1981 lost in 2 slam semis and one slam QF.
1982 won 2 slam finals and lost in 1 slam semi.
1983 won 1 slam final and lost in 1 4th round and 1 QF.
1984 lost in 1 slam final and 2 slam semis.
1985 lost in 3 slam semis.
1982 is wrong. Connors won 2 majors (Wimbledon, US Open), and lost in the quarter finals of the French Open to Higueras, not the semi finals.

Rafa is on 8 and will go to 9 when he wins a title this year - he is already on 9 straight finals.

Noel and Murray are both on 7 straight years for wins (06-12), Murray is on 8 straight years for finals (05-12).

****, I thought it was years reaching a grandslam final, in which case Connor's 19 years would be ungodly.

I see no reason as to why both Roddick and Federer wouldn't surpass Lendl, but a lot of things can happen in 2 years!

Or as Moose pointed out, two months!

Connors with 19? Thats pretty dang nuts. Fed's is completely nuts too.. Its truly amazing this guy hasn't lost in the first week of a slam in like 10 years. Usually injuries will do that yet somehow he hasn't had any major type of injuries at all.. Talk about perfect genetics

Roddick is the only player listed who had his streak ended by retirement.

Fed has had injuries, and sickness, he just played his best through them. The guy is some kind of phenomenon, for sure.

if davydenko had won one of the 3 SF he played last year (l. to roger in rotterdam, baker in nice, tsonga in metz), he would now have a streak of 11 consecutive years reaching at least a final...
