Default ITF Junior Tennis

Hi all! I've decided that I want to play some ITF tourneys this year, and am wondering what the competition is like.

I'm top 50 in my province (despite only playing 2 tourneys), and am confident I could be top 30 if I had more time for playing tournaments.

I'd be entering a level 5 tourney in Burlington (the lowest level, I think).

Does anyone have any info/tips/advice for me?

Thanks all

I live in ontario, and there are various tournaments in Burlington and Toronto (each about 2H away)

One of the kids I play tennis with plays in the ITF tournaments and he is ranked 2 in Canada under 16 and top 10 under 18. He went deep in the spring tournament that was held in Burlington. It is a tough tournament to play with a lot of people coming in from all over the world to play these events. You might want to play the OTA events and work your way into the provincials and then the national events. And the young man's name is Raheel Manji, you can check his credentials on the OTA website. I hope this will help you out.

First off how old are you ? None the less tennis courts in ITF are the same size as USTA courts , the most important thing you could do is make your strokes and footwork and clean as possible then find a few players better then and pay them if you have to and have them move you around and try and apply these 2 things you have worked on.

ITF's are overrated some of the best areas to find awesome players are in the nationals here in the USA , try and find some tourneys close to you and make sure what you have worked on you can apply on the courts in your hometown ,,at that point wait till your around 16 to start making your move to dominate the USA and so on.

Best to you

I am 16 . I also am in Canada, so USTA Nationals are out of my reach. I have got someone who is far superior to me to hit with (Used to be top 5 in Canada U18 boys, maybe 3 years ago). Thanks for the tips!
