Default US Open Doubles

If the doubles matches were a separate ticket, would anyone pay to watch?

It's like if the WTA matches were a separate ticket. Yes, people would pay to watch but there'd be a lot less fans in the stands.

I wouldn't pay $25 (x2) to take my kid to see the Bryan's play dubs, but I'd pay that to see Serena play Sharapoca.

Doubles and mixed has been one of my favorite parts of attending the Open in person over the years. It's much better than on TV. Up close you see a lot more strategy and you get to see some top players more relaxed and interactive than in singles. I would recommend to all if you get the chance.

I agree doubles can be entertaining but I enjoy watching singles. I went to one of the Slams a few years ago and the Doubles Finals stadium was less than 1/2 full.

I wasn't comparing men's doubles vs women's tennis. The WTA as a whole is less popular than the ATP.

Anyways, I'd rather go watch the Bryan's play dubs than watch Serena play Sharapova.

Not true, the difference between WTA and ATP is minimal.

What the WTA needs is a marketable rivalry. That is really the only difference between the two tours popularity.
