How does your stringers table mount to the platform?

I'm interested in making a stringing machine from 'Frankensteining' my current stringer.

I'd ideally just replace the frame mounting table as I like the pulling mechanism. That is, It would be the exact opposite of purchasing a Wise to install on a machine. I want to change out an old glide bar stringer with something w/ swivel clamps and was wondering how other machine's tables were connected to their stand or base.

Mine just sits on a 1 inch diameter post that gets inserted into a hole on the stand/base in which it'll swivel around from there.

I just want to lift off the old and insert the new. It has got to be possible! Somebody has to have a machine that has a similarly installed table. I've seen where Gamma machines have upgraded tables for purchase to install. I just don't know if they'll fit.

So basically, you just want to find a replacement turntable for your stringer??

My stringway sits on a post too....not sure of the diameter. I would imagine almost all machines do, otherwise how would they turn.

What is wrong with your current turntable?

Glide bars but the worst is the ancient racquet mounting that'll warp frames. It is really not as secure as many machines today. I'd suggest that a Klipper has a better system than the Prince P200.

A while back a poster here kooguy modified an old Serrano machine with an Eagnas table and listed how it was done. I know it is different machine, but the parts used will give you insight on the eagnas table mounting on how it is attached. The link is below:

Thanks Jim. That's exactly what I was looking for. It was difficult to find the pics but I got lucky and found them through another search since the old links weren't working.

I wish the Eagnas machines was still $219. It's now $80 more but it seems worth the try to get the machine I'd like.

I wish Kooguy was still posting here at TT. He hasn't posted in 6 years. I'd like to pick his brain a bit more before I jump in there. I think I can make this work though.

I'm a welder by trade and I think you could adapt a new turn table by finding a bearing (maybe a auto parts store) the size of the new machines mount and welding it on top of your 1 " hole. You would have to be careful not to damage the bearing during the welding process, but it could be done if you know what your doing.

VERY EXCITED!

The other day I saw a listing on that auction site where a guy was selling just the stand and tension head from an Eagnas machine. I don't know why I clicked on it but I did and he mentioned he was selling it because he uses the table for a Prince pneumatic stringer. I emailed him and asked for pics and he was gracious enough to send them to me. I had an ah-ha moment. The first was that he used 1 inch washers to lift the Eagnas table higher to fit the tension head assembly better.

I had heard from a person who viewed my video above that there should be a plastic washer between the table and post so I thought to go buy a washer. It cured the wobble! I thought, "Why not buy a few more to lift the table to get 360 degree swivel?" and I did. It works!

I think I can live with the glide bars longer.

In other news, I just picked up a Prince MP100 stringer too. I got it from a friend of mine who'd just sold all of the clamps, glide bars, etc. I mainly got it because the table, compressor, and nearly all other parts are interchangeable. Besides, I traded some stuff I was never going to use for it. I just have to get it operational. The compressor just runs and doesn't seem to build up pressure. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, which came first; the P200 or the MP100? Is one better than the other? I can tell the tables are slightly different. The P200 table is a 2 point and the MP100 is a 3 point mount; at least, that is what I've read somewhere. The only difference is that the MP100 has 1 clamp at the head with 4 plastic adapters and the P200 only has 2 plastic adapters.

If your compressor does not hold pressure, I'd check for leaks or a faulty regulator. Tennis Machines would probably have the parts since they bought out the remaining parts. I read somewhere you can replace the compressor with a pancake comressor you can get from Harbor Frieght for $40 or Home Depot.

If you want swivle clamps, the first machine that comes to mind is a Prince Neos 1500, to go with the Prince theme. But the mounting on the 1500 is more similar to the 5000 and 6000. Though not impossible, you could make an adaptor plate to mount the brake system/turret to your machine.

I also have this from a Eagnas Flex 740. If decide to use an Eagnas TT.
