I remember seeing UVA fans claiming Boland was the first one to see Raonic's talent and that he almost came to Virginia. Still a thing?

Pretty ancient history right now. His name comes up once in a great while. He would not be on the current team regardless, or last year's team, and would never have stayed four years.
