I know you only see me hit 2 times, im the one of the left. I end up losing the point because he hits a very short backhand. I just wanted to know how my formed looked from what you see. Thanks

Its hard to say. You need another video,from another angle and a longer rally string together a few points maybe even a game or so. Try to shoot a video from behind a fence,preferrably the side you're on.

Looks good. But something my coach tells me all the time 1 or none. Dont hit forehands while on one foot like you did in your first. Try to keep them on the ground or really use your body and put something into it where you come off the ground.

Neither. I play around 3 or 4 tourneys a month and train around 6 days a week. 3 or 4 on court the other in the gym, or vice versa. Havent decided yet but I think im going to give it a run in futures and challenger tournaments.

Thanks man. And i'd get on a serious training and diet regime. It's serious stuff and if you dont come from money or make some quick on the tour you'll have a hard time supporting yourself. A new hitting partner of mine is 20 and on the tour right now, and he says a lot of people who dont dedicate themselves to this and treat it like an actual job will drop it because they cant keep up finacially. If you play everyday for 4 years for 5 hours a day, I still don't see you winning a set in a challenger.

Tell me if I'm wrong here, but you don't decide to give it a run in challengers unless you've received a high enough ranking playing futures, no?

Its just a question in general.. mostly directed at Head Youtek, since he brought it up. I thought you would need a ranking to enter pro tournies, but then I see something like this and I don't know what to think lol

I think I remember seeing that in a thread a while back. Apparently something about him being the only player in his country? I don't know, but it's definitely not normal.

I agree with the posters who have said at this point, futures/challengers don't seem too realistic. And even then, why bother?

It's difficult to know whether that really is a genuine futures event. Just because the poster says its an F12 Futures doesn't mean that it is. The title of that video might be a joke. If it is a Futures event, it will almost certainly be the 1st round of qualifying. That guy is awful.

You do need a rating to enter but it doesn't have to be a 'pro' ranking because I don't think the ITF stictly distringuish between pros and lower level players for those types of tournaments. It's also an 'open' tournament, so in theory as long as you have a rating and you meet that particularly tournament's entry criteria, you could potentially enter. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. Players like the guy in the video would be filtered out very quickly in the 1st qualifying round.

That said, you don't normally get let into even the qualifying rounds if the tournament is oversubscribed and you're below a certain rating (they will politely put you on the reserve list). I can only guess that that particularly tournament was under subscribed, which is why he managed to get in to the 1st round of qualifying. Most players in the main draw of those tournament will be higher level players, typically LTA 2.2, 3.1 etc, which will typically translate to around NTRP 5.5/6.0+. Oliver Golding for example (1st round of Wimbledon this year) played an F6 event down in Bournemouth a couple of months ago.
