Just try not to give away too many points, play aggressively but don't try to outhit anyone because they can probably beat you in that regard. There's an excellent thread here http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=413112
that could give you pretty good advice about placement. If you're patient and don't overhit they could get frustrated and give you lots of points. One time my opponent won the first set against me in about 15 minutes flat, and then I focused on just moving him around and getting his forehands and serves back and I almost won the second set. Above all don't be disappointed if you lose and just try to grow as a player through your matches

Thanks, good points. That thread is very interesting and quite frankly, a good technique.

Don't assume that you will lose to a better player.

I was in a NTRP 1.0 tournament and I beat the number one seed in the third round. I was unseeded at the time. As a matter of fact, I had to win the qualifying tournament to get into the 128 main draw.

One of the biggest win of my life.

Do they even have tournaments for NTRP 1.0? I guess maybe for junior-high or high-schoolers possibly. I'm not sure I've never seen an Adult NTRP 1.0 tourney. At least not USTA.
