I string RIP as a cross for someone with a main that didn't slide very well and it was really a pain. I had no problems stringing it, but I had to pull the crosses very slowly and the string did tend to unravel.

If you are talking about unwinding yes. Just make sure the string can unwind on the throats painted area.
