I thought it would be interesting to compare how Federer and Nadal performed after completing the career Grand Slam. Federer achieved this at the 2009 French Open. Nadal achieved this at the 2010 U.S. Open. Consequently, I will compare the two years after their win.
From after the 2009 French Open to just after the 2011 French Open, Federer won 2 Grand Slams, and reached 2 Grand Slam finals. He also won 1 Year End Championships and 2 Masters Series tournaments. In all he won 8 tournaments and lost in 8 other tournament finals. From the 2010 U.S. Open to just after the 2012 U.S. Open, Nadal won 2 Grand Slams, and reached 3 Grand Slam finals. He won 3 Masters Series tournaments. In all he won 8 tournaments and lost in 9 other tournament finals. It is quite remarkable how similar Federer and Nadal's performances were after each won the career Grand Slam. |

I think for Federer to have almost matched that stat with Nadal, and being 5 years older, is quite remarkable,

@OP
Thats a very interesting thing to come up with. Thanks! How about doing a 3 year post career slam comparison. It would include one slump-year for both of them... (2011 for Fed - no GS) and 2012 for Nadal (Relatively). Just curious. I'm curious to see (In future, in about 4 years) on how Nadal's post-prime will shape up to be. I'm sure it can't be as good as Fed's but can he do a decent job with his playstyle?
