I think someone on this forum said that some fans invented that story and it wasn't true.

Does Federer have the right to attack the crowd? Federer comes across as an irreverent bully. Hope Djokovic stomps him into the ground

He revealed that Rafael Nadal, resting his injured knees in Mallorca, had been in touch. "He messaged me after the match and said, 'Just enjoy it, I'm very happy for you. You deserved it.' That means a lot to me. I got a lot of congratulations from a lot of people but, when you get it from someone you competing against and he's one of the best players ever, it means a little bit more."

Oh, it's definitely true, Djokovic's mother said it when interviewed live on TV a few minutes after the match ("The king is dead, long live the king").

That was in Jan '08, of course, so it looks like the dead king has still got a bit of bounce...

This is like a part II of the king is dead story:

Quote:
Already, the idea that Djokovic and Murray may be the tour's next duopoly -- "the future guys who will rule tennis," as Marian Vajda, Djokovic's coach, puts it -- has begun to take hold. "I say it openly and I believe in it: This is the next future," Vajda says. "Because I don't see so many players coming in, recently. For ten years, the decade has been Federer-Nadal, and now is Novak and Murray. It will be more often this way. I respect Roger and Rafa and (Juan Martin) del Potro and all the guys in the top ten. But we see these guys at the end."

Hope Rafa comes back next year and kicks Novak's *****.

Apologize? Roger did what Novak couldn't tell his parents, to shut up. I think Novak even whispered a thank you to Roger

No kidding. Obviously the whole Djokovic team all have the same delusional ideas about Novaks grandeur. His father went on the same kind of rant during the rain delay at the French Open, telling an interviewer that Novak was going to win and prove that he was the best player and that Novak was going to be proclaimed the best tennis player in history. The interviewer was a little taken aback by that and asked him if best in all of history was really what he meant and Pop said oh yes, for sure, Novak is the best ever. Apparently Pops was half crocked as he had been sitting there swigging champagne during the rain delay. So classy those Djokovic's.

It's called belief, not delusions of grandeur.

And if you yourself say Pops was soaked, then why pay attention to what he said.

I think a trip to Mars would be better, desert islands are so last-century, and these 2 can afford a ticket. Mars is made of red clay so Rafa will be delighted.

It's not belief to say that Cvac will be better than Fed in a few years, and also the best clay court player in a few years time as well. He sounded like an idiot. His entire team/family are big mouthed big talkers, and I can say that it has been extremely pleasing to see them get put in their place this year. The seal clapping girlfriend included.

"Put in their place" ??? He won AO and almost won USO were it not for that gentle breeze that wafted over from Scotland across the Atlantic messing with his laser precision shots.

He's almost a shoe-in (sp?) for the #1 and the family will very much be in your face come January
"Clapping gf included".
(ROTFL at yr last sentence)

Lol. Mars' gravity is also weaker so he would have more net clearance.

Low grav means less stress on knees (and leg muscles). He'll finally know what it is to float like Federer
