Anyone have any string set-ups they enjoy with the new Wilson BLX Six.One 90?

gut in the pro staff is an amazing thing and something everyone should try once. I know the price is hard to ignore, but if your not a string breaker it can actually be cheaper in the long run because gut pretty much holds its tension till it breaks.

Apparently Champion's Choice is kinda cool
But any gut-poly hybrid will probably be fantastic.

I playtested 20-some polys after I got my new frames and eventually settled on a full bed of Tourna Big Hitter Black 7 (17g) at 45lb. Solinco Tour Bite was a close second and MSV Focus Hex wasn't far behind. Any of them would be a good choice (if you like poly) in whatever gauge feels best to you.

Currently playing with Alpha Prodigy full bed at 54 or 56 depending on what I'm feeling like. Also liked playing with Alpha Hard Court SG in it at the same tensions. After a session of playing after the racquet sits overnight, these strings seem to settle in at 44-47 and stabalize. Once at that point, they play very well still.
Prior to this I played with Wilson Stamina, but those broke every couple of weeks like clockwork. It was too much of a problem, so I stopped using it. I generally like playing with these types of nylons because they're closer to a poly for me and they don't move a lot most of the time. Both of the Alpha strings have been much more durable than anything that Wilson has to offer. |
