Post A Hybrid Setup

I had a chance to play test

High-tech Natural gut 16 ga.(natural gut with synthetic fibers) with luxilon alu power rough and High-tech 16 ga. with Topspin Polytech 17 ga. High-tech in the mains alu and polytech in the crosses, tension 55/51 in 18 x 20 racquet.

High-tech with Lux ALU did not perform well very little control(strings probably would not slide)

High-tech with polytech was a different story, nice power, returning serves hit several back hand winners up the line with little effort, control was better, yet not nimble for short balls, Serves were good as usual could penetrate the corners with hard hit serves. Topspin serves had pace on them.

All in all High-tech and polytech gets a passing mark for an inexpensive hybrid with good power and average control.

PS: Those giving this string negative reviews need to look deeper and try several hybrids before overall opinions.

My racket was normal weight for play test,,I have started to customize one of my racquets with added weight at 3 and 9, string Luxilon Big Banger Ace-the dual colored string-green in the shade-silver in the light, I'll review this latter.

Yes, an inexpensive one.

I decided to keep it and playtest further,,Comparing thin gauge strings with these thicker gauge strings, they have something to offer. I will work on better control and nimble pickup of short balls.
