ok I guess I was going to apply for the 4.5 flex league and based on what you say I could find players much weaker than that even thought at 4.5

Maybe it's not worth it ......

If you're a legit 4.5, I'm not sure a flex league makes much sense. I'm a 4 and wanted to be in the 4.5, but they didnt have enough people, so it's a 4.0 Flex league. Not sure what to expect....we'll see.

Im raising a 5 and a 3 year old that dont give me too much free time. Flex league is a good option. Also, a stranger can later go in your "tennis partner list", who knows.

I'm a 4.0 computer rated but it's a old rate based on my first league in 2010. Now all thought I still at 4.0 because I did not play any league over the last two years but only some tournaments ( which I won)I definitely am a 4.5. I was thinking to apply because I just had a baby and I thought it would easier to scheule a macth or find good players to play and eventually practice with.

That said missing a match against a weak player can certainly make it tougher to move up.
Usually in each division there are a few players capable of winning the division and moving up and there a few who have no chance. If one of the good players play the bad players early in the season and the bad players decide to drop out after a few weeks, the other good players can't get the easy wins and move up. It's usually the weak players who decide to drop out.

See, I don't understand. Dropping out because you're losing. I joined the single's flex this summer (only 6 matches) because I desperately need to work on my singles game. I've played 5 matches so far and lost 4. Three were in the third set tie break, one was a straight sets loss. I would never have dreamed of dropping out if I still had more matches and was facing last place.

1) I did this for exercise

2) It is improving my singles games as my previous losses prior to flex were all in straight sets

3) I am figuring out where my weaknesses are (converting game points).

There is no prize for winning and there is no penalty for losing - why not just stick with it?

If you sign-up but aren't really interested in playing tennis, how about this.
Just go to the flex league coordinator and write out a check for $30.00 as a donation. Or better, yet offer up free pizza at the end of the flex league season. Would save you a lot of grief and you would ingratiate yourself to all the flex leaguers that you otherwise would just p#$%ss off. It would be a win-win for everyone.

Only the true Recreational GOATs play FlexLeague.

I saw a FlexLeague battle yesterday and dude was wearing Uni Qlo and GOATing hard.

Blew my mind.

Dude said his name was Lee. Played an old Wilson. Epic.

Yah I think I met this guy. He kept calling me grasshopper for some reason. Had a 5.0 serve with some 3.5 tendencies in gameplay. Probably would outGOAT anybody on this board.
