I just did my first Hybrid. I set the mains (poly) at 53. Crosses (Syn gut) 57. The tune reading just came out to 61!!!
This is really confusing to me as my racquet tune readings are always low. Even one that checked right after picking up from my certified stringer. So any ideas why my 1st hybrid job came out high? Ti rad 98 Pro's Pro Black Force 1.24 (53) Gosen Micro Sheep 16 (57) Any feedback on why my reading is 60+ ?

I'm assuming you used the default string factors? If so, then your readings will not match the strung tension. There are some strings where it will be way off and others it will be almost right on the nose every time with the default factors.
What kind of machine do you have? When was it last calibrated? |

1- Yep default settings. (I just thought it was odd that readings are usually 5# low but this one is high. 2- older Czech standing model. 3- I check calibration with luggage scale obsessively before each stringing.

Did you pick hybrid for the string job? If you did, then it's either your string factors throwing it off or your machine/technique is off. More than likely the string factors, but I would czech and make sure your stinger is calibrated correctly too.

I used to use a stringmeter. I strung my rackets with PH at 54. But the readings always came out at like 64. After some time of stringing the rackets and then checking to make sure it was around 64, I stopped. I decided that if I maintained my machine, and used the same good tecnique that I was accustomed to, then every job would be correct, no? I was getting some varied readings based on how fast I turned the meter, position of the gauge wheel, etc. So I decicded that it was undue stress to worry "Oh my, this stringjob says 63!". Thus I handed the stringmeter to one of my friends and said keep it, dont let me use it.
