I want my kid to play Jr USopen and Jr french open and Jr Australian open, why isn't my kid selected why why why , I want him to be exposed to a great childhood tennis experience

Most people who object to the rules changes are the parents of U14-U16 kids who may not be able to play nationally, then there are the folks who are making money out of the old system
This isn't a fair statement and there are lots of people on both sides of the argument who care deeply about the sport of tennis and their children. Good players will definitely come through. They won't be developed or helped by the USTA which is a shame. Also many good players will not have the opportunities once available and that will affect their ability to compete at the college level, which for most is the goal of all this. The USTA tournament system hasn't produced any players of professional caliber. US players who will really compete on the tour hit the ITF circuit somewhere between 14-18 years old and then the amateur version of ITF at the highest levels of collegiate tennis or struggle without USTA assistance as a pro. These players are trained and developed by coaches from other countries who are actually trained and developed as professional coaches. There are very few US coaches (if any) who are really trained. Most take USPTA or PTR courses which are quick and to the point but teach very little about how to develop a young athlete. It's an art and a science and none of this USTA nonsense is helping US kids develop into real athletes who can compete at the international level.

Thank you justinmadison - seriously.

I realize sometimes I'm a salmon swimming upstream here and that's okay as I truly believe it takes all kinds. And while my thinking may be flawed to many, I'm able to rationalize the methods behind my madness.
