Grass season, even that is the shortest in season, for instance there is no M1000 in grass.

The post-Australian Open period leading up to the Hardcourt Swing in the US.
With all due respect to the smaller tournaments, February is the most boring month of the whole season...

The hard-court and grass-court seasons, and the indoor hard-court season especially. Hopefully the indoor tournaments will eventually be phased out, just like carpet was.

agree. Makes no sense. There are 4 clay Masters (including one that's really a 500 but pretends to be a 1000) and no Grass. Ridiculous and explains Nadal's 21 Masters titles (16 of which are on clay and 4 of which were at MC which wasn't even a mandatory event).

What's Nadal's record on carpet?

Clay court tennis. Shrink the season to what the grass court season is now.

The short Grass court season, i mean we need a M1000 on grass to be fair!

The rest is pretty good.

December, then February are the worst for obvious reasons.

August is quite a let-down after the grasscourt season, which is my favourite surface.

I'm not too bothered by hard vs clay. They're both generally slow anyway, on hard it's easier to see the ball but clay has more character.

For me, Grass > Indoor/Fast Hard> Clay > Slow Hard

Why are there two major US hardcourt runs?

Having said this, I like slow hardcourt (though the summer Toronto/Cincinnati duo are meant to be faster than the spring Indian Wells/Miami duo), so I'm not too bothered.

However, in the interest of fairness, it seems one of these should be scrapped for at least one grass Masters.

The tour is like 60% hardcourt, 39% clay, 1% grass.
