Default Are Nadal and Murray pushers?

People call them pushers but they put the ball away.

When Nadal is playing confidently he dictates points and plays aggressive tennis

When Murray is playing confidently he's still a pusher

This was good example.

I was there this year and watched Nadal against Nalbandian. Nadal pushed for most of the match. Also he pushed against Mur US 08. He can play some aggressive tennis like the vid shows.

Murray, unfortunate for his fans, is a push machine. He has sparks of aggression but not enough to win him a major.

sometimes, sometimes not. counterpunchers, whatever. they are effective obviously. Much like Monfils, too

I generally agree with your assessment.

Your video shows Nadal playing aggressive against Murray.

Here's a video that shows the opposite. Murray being aggressive against Nadal.

Umm...no and no. Despite what the local TTW 2.5 experts would like you to think, neither Murray nor Nadal are pushers.

Murray pushes, whilst Nadal just plays defensively but plays big on the huge points.

BTW murray does have the ability to attack but he doesn't

Obviously they're not actually pushers, but you have to admit, Murray's game really is passive.

I doubt anyone actually thinks Murray is a pusher...

We just call him that as an exaggeration.

Just like no one actually believes Nadal is, taxonomically and biologically speaking, an actual monkey.

Doesn't stop anyone from calling him a Topspin Monkey

And people might call Djokovic a jackass, but no one actually thinks he is genetically related to donkeys and other horse-like creatures.

And no one actual thinks James Blake has a growth problem which causes him to be significantly shorter than the average male, but he is still a mental midget.

Stop taking things so literally jamesblakefan#1 (are you actually the #1 James Blake fan? Is this an objective fact? Is there, indeed, a rankings list of James Blake fans?)

Nadal is aggressive and assertive even to a big extent when playing defensively on clay. Murray is not.

Pusher is a pejorative term I reserve for people who play only defensive balls without pace. I dont consider any tennis pro a pusher. Murray could be a counterpuncher or junkballer possibly.

How about we coin "pusher" at the pro level what andy murray does at a consistent basis. Same for monfils and simon. We know they have some good shots in there, but we dont see them too often.

Default Definitely Murray

Murray is definitely a pusher. He's obviously great, but at that level his game is still about NO PACE, CONSISTENCY, and PATIENCE. aka PUSHER.

He slices both wings a ton and plays possum all day.

Nadal on the other hand is not because he takes a huge rip at the ball. Playing with excessive spin does not equal pushing.

Lesson over.

Did you even watch the match live or calling Murray a pusher based on a youtube highlights reel??...It was severly gusty that day and Murray was struggling alot more than Nadal with the wind. He's timing was completely off, hence the one sided scoreline.
