Default What's a good way to transition from a 2HBH to a 1HBH?

Well, from what I've suddenly started realizing was that slowly yet surely, on low balls that were sort of dead, I used a 1HBH to return, but it wasn't done with spin, the ball just lobbed back. But then, I started slowly using a 1HBH more on returns on rallies instead of 2HBH... Slowly, I was able to drive back balls with a 1HBH. So I am wondering how I can also start slowly transitioning from a 2HBH to a 1HBH more effectively... I do switch to the forehand continental grip (I forgot what the backhand grip is called)...
