Indeed I am considering that as I have still a set of Topspin Cyberflash 17. Do you happen to know that string?

I play with an mp but like you prefer full poly and again like you I have no arm issues at all

current fave is black5edge, just tried RPM Blast but not getting on with it, just ordered some Signum Pro Plasma HEX-treme 1.20mm so will see how I get on with that

Oddly enough I just ordered a couple of sets of the 16. I want to try it out hybriding it with BHB7 to see if non textured crosses have any effect, and the cyberflash was the most spin friendly string that was also not too stiff listed on the TWU string finder.

What a coincidence!

Last night I played with my BA98 and I was wondering why I switched from it. The BA98 has such a great touch and my serves are also so much better than with the Redondo. The stiffer BA gives me better feedback as well. It just felt like an extension of my arm.

I think I better stay with the BA98s.

I still give my Redondo MP a try with a full poly stringbed Topspin Cyber Flash 17 at 24/23 kg. I was surprised to see the Cyber Flash 17 is 4 grams heavier than the Head RIP Control 17. I noticed some vibrations when I was hitting against the wall but a vibration dampener solved this. The total weight of my Redondo is now 365 grams and the balance at 32.4 cm (6 pts hl).

This afternoon I hit some serves with my Redondo with Topspin Cyber Flash at 24/23 kg and I am glad to mention it improved a lot.

Topspin Cyber Flash gives me better feedback and more ball bite. I was afraid it was too stiff for me but it still felt pretty soft into the Redondo. I was able to hit a more penetrating serve but performing my toss in a relaxed way is the most important aspect. When I did this the acceleration of my serve motion was a lot easier.

The only minor point is that I felt a little bit muscle pain into my underarm after a while due to the stiffer strings as I am not used to polyester strings.

Tried it and was surprised - too many vibrations, even strung in the low 40's with SPPP 1.18. Selling it after just an hour of hitting. Back to the drawing board

Default What string for Redondo MP?

After my second serve hitting session for an hour I got a little elbow pain due to the poly strings Topsin Cyber Flash 17 while after my first session I didn't.

I only noticed some shock into my elbow when I muscled my service.

I never had arm injuries before and I used to play with Head RIP Control 17.

Should I switch to a less stiff string or will I still get used to this poly?

I would suggest hybriding it with RIP control. Cyber flash is already one of the softest polys according to the TWU string finder.

Personally I found that focusing on fluidity and efficiency when practicing my serves has paid off a lot more in matches than focusing on the power, as more mph will come with improved technique, while also cutting down on the pain.
I only figured this out after I switched to Redondo from prestige and still had elbow pain.

Thanks, PKfan1!
I 'll give the hybrid a try. Should I put the cyber flash into the mains if I want a more crisp feel and less string movement?
What tensions do you recommend?

Try a gamma shockbuster (the gel worm). You'd be surprised how well it dampens the vibrations...

Has anybody compared the 93 and 98 to the PK Ki 5 PSE? I'd probably be adding 10 g total at 3/9 to the Redondos b/c I have heard there are stability problems, and I want to up the weight some. Among other factors, how do the stiffnesses compare?

Thanks so much; I'm really excited to give them a try!

I think the cyberflash mains would be the better choice going from a full bed.

I'm not sure what tensions you normally play with, but I am very pleased with BHB7 mains and BHS crosses @62lbs

The Ki 5 PSE is around 62 I think but the Kinetic system helps a little with dampening. The Redondo is around 56.

I strung Cyber Flash mains at 55 lbs and Head RIP Control crosses at 57 lbs.

Last Thursday I played a practice session. I noticed the additional weight from the Cyber Flash. Besides I already added 5 grams of lead at 12. I hit more balls long than usual due to the higher swingweight.

After my hitting partners finished and they went home I still practiced my serves for half an hour.

I needed to focus on a relaxed and accurate toss to be able to accelerate my serve motion fluently. Then I was rewarded with a solid feel and a nice twack sound from the Cyber Flash strings.

I think I 'll remove the lead strips (5 grams) because I felt it added too much power especially with my groundstrokes. Besides my volleys were easier without the lead and I think the Redondo is already rock solid at the net in stock condition.

[quote=Gee;6799390]I strung Cyber Flash mains at 55 lbs and Head RIP Control crosses at 57 lbs.

If you are willing to experiment further, I recommend trying Polyfibre Black Venom in your hybrid setup.

I've had success with Technifibre NRG2 17 in the mains at 58 lb and Polyfibre Black Venom 16L in the crosses at 55 lb on my Redondo Mid racquets. I used to play a full bed of NRG2. I found that I get extra pop, a bigger sweetspot, and a slightly stiffer stringbed by adding the Black Venom.

I don't know how Black Venom will play with Head Rip Contol, but it might be worth a try.
