Default weight of polys

Do polys weigh more than other strings? I tried Big Banger Ace 18g in my Surge 5.1 this weekend and it felt a little heavier than my usual Sensation 17g. Thanks for reading.

Wouldn't the difference in weight of two different strings be somewhat negligible?

Not to me. Without looking at which of my TiRadicals I pick up, I can always tell the one strung with ALU 16g over the TiMo 18g. Both are set up identically except for the string job. The ALU frame has a heavier head.

I'm not sure how the actual difference effect play, but I can notice that the swingweight is different.

I had the same experience as RS. My Surge with the BB Ace 18g felt head-heavier than my Surge with the Sensation. Everything else on the frames is identical. I weighed the two frames a couple of weeks ago when I had them both restrung with Sensation 17g at 58lbs.
