Geez, how old are you man? You sound like you're my dad's age, and I know that canNOT be true.

Come onnnn.

Drink very, very little. Play very hard. Work on your strength and flexibility. Don't waste your time with advil. Prevent injuries.

Trust me, I wish I had stretched a LOT more when I was a young player. Competitive tennis (especially into your 30s) is tougher on the body than people think.

So my answer is to drink socially and moderately at the most, and to not take advil unless it is absolutely necessary.

Okay, this is a this, that or the other.
Here goes.
What do you guys drink before/during/after a nice long day of tennis in the heat?
Water, a sports drink, or a sports drink diluted with water?

I don't think that was a question, anyways

Drink and risk liver?

or

Play it safe and go without?

I feel fortunate that my wife's really great in both departments.

If I had a preference, I'd say leaner up top and more real estate on the lower body. I'm kind of a leg/thigh man, too. And that includes poultry.

Thanksgiving or Easter? (I realize this Q is more for the North American demographic. Sorry to all you hipsters from other lands)

coffee before tennis, water during tennis, various alki bevs before during and after dinner

[drinking tip of the day: instead of having a glass of water with your cocktail, have your drink in form of a FIZZ! (i.e., pour cocktail into tall glass over ice cubes and top it off with club soda)]

cocktail or fizz?

I did it. USUALLY. For at least 9 out of every 10 parties all four years. But then again, I played a sport, too. And I did not really care if people thought I was a wuss.

The best part was to be coherent, happy and only mildly buzzed at the end of the night when the typical yutzes were puking and stumbling over themselves as they concluded their mission to NOT score.

Playing with a piece of shite.

Unless it was made of aluminum. Then I'd go to the Salvation Army store, donate it, and buy one of their wooden sticks. Then spend a few bucks on decent strings and a grip.

Leather with a fresh replacement grip? Or a synthetic replacement grip every few months?

EDIT: Zhan, I hate to sound judgemental, but, man, I hope you're kidding about the hookers.

Silly myth. Overgrips do not cause blisters. Soft, feminine skin does.

Lifting weights or doing plyometrics and isometrics?

EDIT: Okay, that was a little harsh. I remember leather grips giving me blisters. Maybe even Tourna-Grip. But eventually, callouses ought to win the day.

Full aggressive. You like passive - play chess.

Bookmark, scrap of paper, paperclip, etc. or Dogear book pages?
