Has Dedans been around the Bistro this year? Did he develop a case of vertigo and abandon the ceiling fan? Was he banned again? Did he join a nunnery?

I found a note on the ceiling fan last week. I believe that Dedans has "gone fishing."

Shots? Oh He11 yeah! Deciding what to have as I carefully pull the pumpkin bread pudding out of the oven. Made this for my Christmas party and apparently, it was a major hit with bread pudding afficiandos I will eat drink and be merry (or Fifi) for the next few days, because as of Monday, sniff sniff sniff, I will be on a draconian diet.

I went to the Doc Thursday for a physical. It had been quite a long time since my last one. He's a nice guy. He walks into the room and says, "Fifi, your cholesterol is one word....horrible!" He gives me some pills to take and for the next 6 weeks it's no bread, no rice, no pasta, no sugar, no corn, no peas, NO BOOZE!!!!!!!!! So, come and join me in the Bistro while I can still has a life likes the little kittehs say!

Does this mean no more Bistro eggplant parmesan? Maybe you can bring some good and healthy food to the Bistro; healthy food can be very good! Why no peas? I always thought that this was a healthy food.

Yes, eggplant is still ok, just no bread crumbs. Apparently peas have tons of sugar in them. The real kicker Mikey is that I do eat a pretty healthy variety of foods. I do lot's of veggies. Unfortunately, I do have a love of the carbs, as in potatoes and pasta. When I do bread, it's always a whole grain whole wheat. Ooops, I forgot to ask the Doc about that. Assume no bread is no bread. I can do anything for 6 weeks I figure. The toughest part will be the no booze. No vino with a nice meal or a bloody mary watching football or a nice chilled brewski

Most bread has a lot of sugar in it, regardless if it's "whole grain" or "whole wheat" or not. You really have to look at the nutrition info on the label and the ingredients really carefully. One slice can really spike whichever numbers you are tracking. I'm doing weight watchers right now, I get 26 points per day and the sliced bread I had in the house when I started the diet was 3 points per slice.
