Looking at your past posts, it seems you have a bit of experience already so probably the best thing to do is just practice playing matches. Freshmen year was rather intimidating for me since I came in with limited tennis experience and no match experience... I worked hard and improved rather quickly during that time and was able to move up to around spot #13 through challenges. I wasn't able to make Varsity until the next year after playing long hours during the summer. It started out rough but went along a lot smoother in the years following. Good luck with everything.

show that you want to be on varsity. i showed that at tryouts and i actually got to play as the second seed on my team. plus, you shouldn't be intimidated by other guys. just show you can top all of them. and always run for everyball even though if it's really far away from you, your coach will think that your a great hustler and it pays off at the end. oh and one last thing. play lots of tennis matches. it helps you a lot. especially me.

Even if you don't have the skills to make the team, you can make up for it with hustle. Always have a good attitude, stay focused and determined, but DON'T GET MAD. I am sure your coach would much rather have someone with a good work ethic and attitude on the team that a talented brat. Also, pay very close attention to what your coach tells you are don't be afraid to ask questions, coaches like it when a player isn't afraid to ask questions.
