Default Haas will win

Im not sure if he has even played the first round match yet, but I definately wanna see him win. It is absolutely his time to be in the spotlight, and he totally deserves it. If Fish can win the silver medal with over 100 unfoced errors, Haas can win the US Open.

I think Haas is definite has a better than above average chance to win.. I'd put him as one of the top 5 players that could win:

federer
roddick
hewitt
agassi
haas

Haas vs Grosjan, thats going to be a battle, potential 5 setter. Haas is going to need some serious ammo to get through that one.

Fish didn't win the silver medal with 100 unforced errors. He lost the gold with those errors.

Haas is a very stylish player, I hope he plays federer at some stage in the championship, don't care who wins so long as it's an exciting match, which i think it would be.

I know i've talked about this a bit much.....but, the last time Haas and Federer tangled in a Grand Slam match (2002 Aussie Open) was one of the best, BEST matches i've ever seen. The style and shot making was just amazing. Haas took it 8-6 in the 5th set.

I see no reason to believe Haas is ready for a Slam win. He's won a tournament, sure; had a nice win over Agassi. But that doesn't qualify him for GS contention. Maybe next year. The US Open generally doesn't have surprise winners like that.

Well he had a mixed bag performance in his first round match.. some wonderful shots but also played some poor tennis. Needed 5 sets when he should have won in straights really. Will definitely need to raise his game.

Still having said all that I think he'll go deep. I love his backhand .

3rd round!!!!! The draw has opened up a bit for him to easily make the quarters now.

I just watched the Haas/Roddick olympic match, what an awesome match up. Probably my favorite roddick match. If Haas is playing as well as he did he the match then he has the game to win it all.

Sadly, Hewitt or Federer will win.
